"Wings To Get Away"

"Oh, that I had wings like a dove! For then would I fly away, and be at rest." ~ Psalms 55:6
It won't take a person long (who lives long enough) to desire to be free from the cares of life. From childhood through adulthood, life's situations can really press you down. David wrote freely about his circumstances; violence, oppression, and strife surrounded him on all sides, stirred up by the disloyalty of an old friend. Fear and terror, pain and trembling, anxiety and restless-ness overwhelmed him. No wonder he wanted to fly away, but escape was impossible. To David, escape was impossible. He could not escape his case. He could only give his circumstances to God. "As for me, I will call upon God; and the Lord shall save me." (vs. 16).
Whatever our circumstances - A difficult marriage, being jobless, deep loneliness, fearfulness, discouragement, or wayward children; we can give them all to our great God! "Cast thy burdens upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee." (vs 22). He, Who has all power is able to care for you in every circumstance in life. His help is only a prayer away. Put your faith in the One Who has saved you.
