"The Virgin Birth"

"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into Glory."
~1 Timothy 3:16
Notice the words, "manifest in the flesh." The virgin birth of our Saviour was the act of God. We have in recent years come to hear that His incarnation is not true. Modern day liberals say that the word virgin does not necessarily mean a chaste, pure, young woman who had never known a man sexually. Well, let's check out Isaiah 7:14, "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Emmanuel." The word "virgin," used here, definitely means a pure, chaste, woman who had never known a man. This is the same word used about Rebekah in Genesis 24:43. WE find it again in Proverbs 30:19, Psalm 68:25, and Matthew 1:23. The virgin birth is one of the fundamentals of the gospel message. Without it, you have no good news of salvation. So, in this day of liberalism, let's not give any heed to those who would question the virgin birth of Christ. May we lift up our voices and let the world know that Christ is the only begotten Son of God, born of a virgin in a little town called Bethlehem.
