"Perfect Memory"

"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name,

he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance,

whatsoever I have said unto." John 14:6

A man by the name of Steven Wiltshire has the unusual ability to recall the smallest details about things he has seen and even reproduce them in drawings. He was once flown over the city of Rome and then asked to draw the city center on paper. Without hesitation, he accurately drew from memory the buildings, streets, the windows, and other details. Amazing as that is for one man, there is another kind of memory that's far greater and without error. Here in our text, Jesus says that He would send someone that would give His apostles supernatural memory. That someone was the Holy Spirit, "He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance."

His disciples saw His many miracles, heard His many teachings and witnessed things that could fill volumes of books. Yet, when the Bible writes recorded these events, their words were not their own. Their recollections came from a divine Helper who made sure they compiled those events and words that He selected. The scriptures are not the handy work of some well gifted and talented people.
