"Give In"

"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee fro thee." James 4: 7

Some time back, the California mild producers came out with a two-word ad that caught the attention of many Americans, "Got Milk?". It was recognized by more than 90% of the people polled.

If "Got Milk?" could remind people to drink some "cow juice", perhaps we could find a two-word slogan that would remind Christians to live Godly lives. The fourth chapter of James could give us a start for some two-words.

  1. "Give In!" That's what submit refers to. Allow the Lord to run your life. This is a must in resisting the devil.
  2. "Get Close!" This is what "Draw Nigh" means. It's up to us to be as close to the Lord as possible.
  3. "Clean Up!" We see this in the words, "Cleanse your hand." This can only happen if we confess our sins to God.
  4. "Get Down!" This refers to the word "humble" in verse 10. Bow down and see your weakness and then you will see His strength!

Give In! Get Close! Clean Up! & Get Down! These pairs may not look good on a T-shirt, but they sure would look good on us as we go about our daily living!
