"Is There A God?"

This week's thoughts come from Dr. Tim Green. I trust it will bless and encourage you.

"And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge.."

One day in a school in Russia, an eight-year-old was asked by his teacher to "shake his fist in the face of God." The young lad was a Christian and though only a child, he knew he could not obey his teacher's foolish order. He sat stiffly in his seat. His teacher scolded him, "Young man, you are not obedient." However, with wisdom far beyond his brief days, the young student replied, "If there is a God, as you say, then there is no face for me to shake my fist at!"

Looks like to me the promise of Matthew 10:9 was fulfilled in this courageous boy's life, "..... take no thought how or what ye shall speak; for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak." The spirit of God gave him the words to shut the instructor's mouth and boldly proclaim his faith in God. Yes, THERE IS A GOD!

Many today have been given over by God and have become reprobate (Romans 1:28b). Thousands have seemingly become ".. haters of God..." (Romans 1:30). Atheists and agnostics abound; however, I believe some just "act" in a manner that belies the deep-seated truth of the existence of God. They hope there is not One to answer to or to give an account to. In their hearts they know, "So then everyone of us shall give an account of himself to God." (Romans 14:12). It is only the fool that says there is no God. (Psalm 14:1). - Tim Green
