"Our Comfort"

"How sweet thy words unto my taste! Yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth." Psalms 119:103
"Thou art my hiding place and my shield. I hope in thy word." Psalms 119:114
We who are saved have so many things that lost sinners do not have. Allow me to share with you one area that we have that the world does not have. We have a source of comfort that is able to
aid us in the most difficult situations. It is a comfort that our God offers to those who have been saved. This comfort is God Himself!
Some years ago, I had a church member say to me, "I wish
Jesus was right here to help me." I simply said, "He IS Here."
I then read these verse to that person: It is expedient for you
that I go away: for if I go not away, the comforter will not
come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you." John 16:7. This comforter is Jesus Himself. We know Him as the Holy Spirit. Not only do we have Him with us, we have His Words to comfort us. You cannot separate Jesus and His Word. That is why
it is so very important to read your Bible. Time nor space will
allow me to tell you the many times I have needed comfort. I've never been without it. His Word and His Spirit are ever ready to
aid us when we call upon Him. So remember, in your time of un-
rest, despair, or sorrow, you have His Word and His Spirit avail-
able. It is left up to you to use them. He is ready and wiling to come to your side.
