"Help in the Time of Trouble"

"Let us therefore come boldly unto the thrown of grace,

that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. " ~ Hebrews 4: 16

During World War II, the British Isles represented the last line of defense against Nazi Germany in Europe. Under relentless attack, and in danger of collapse, British Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, went on the radio and appealed to the world: "Give us the tools, and we will finish the job." He knew that without help from the outside, they would not endure the assault coming their way. Life is also like that. We are often inadequate against the troubles that come our way. Thus, we need help from the outside ourselves. As members of the body of Christ, that help can often come to us from other Christians. Ultimately, however, we seek help from our heavenly Father. Jesus called him "Abba Father" which means "Daddy". We, too, are to call him "Abba Father." (Romans 8:15 & Galatians 4:6).

What a wonderful gift we have in prayer. By prayer and through prayer, we can enter into the presence of our heavenly Father, and there we will find mercy and grace in our times of help and need.
