"In Your Place"

"Abide ye every man in his place, let no man go our of his place on the seventh day.
So the people rested on the seventh day." ~ Exodus 16: 29-30
When it came to manna, that God provided for His people, they were to gather twice as much on the sixth day to have enough for the seventh day. The seventh day was the Sabbath, and was a day of rest. The text states that every man (person) was to abide in his place. To be out of place or position can cause unrest, not just the person out of place, but also for others associated with them. A husband out of place can do much harm to his wife and children. The same holds true for the wife or child. A rebellious child is a heartbreak for his or her parents. Rebellion in its simplest form is refusing to abide in your place. The husband out of fellowship with God is out of place. The wife, not in submission to her husband is out of place. Likewise, children who are not in obedience to their parents are out of place. Likewise, children who are not in obedience to their parents are out of place. This would make a home of unrest.
The point is this: Israel was to do their duty in the time they were allotted; then, they could enjoy the rest God intended for them. Doing what is right in the eyes of God in the proper place and time will always bring rest and peace to the soul. Be In Your Place!
