"Rivers of Living Water"

"He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said,

out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water."

~ John 7:38

Often, each of us will feel like we are not amounting to much in our service for the Lord Jesus. It's as if nothing we do is of any value. While you hear of others doing great things, your life seems to produce little to nothing for the cause of Christ. This reminds me of the rancher in Texas who tells of a rickety old windmill that stood alongside his family's barn and pumped water to their place. It was their only source of water for miles. In a strong wind, it pumped water abundantly, but in a light breeze it would not turn. It required manually turning the vanes until the fan faced directly into the wind. Only when properly positioned did the windmill supply water for the ranch. God saved each of us for a specific reason. One such reason is so that He could use us to be a help and blessing to others. For that to happen, we must make sure we are positioned correctly so that the "wind" of the Holy Spirit can blow upon us - thus producing that abundant water which flows from God. This water comes from deep within our hearts and souls.

Our position makes all the difference. Make sure that throughout each day, you stop and ask the Holy Spirit to fill you. As you do so, God can then use you to be a fresh drink of hope for those whom you come into contact with in this dry and sinful world.
