"Casual and Contemporary"

"These people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." Mark 7:6-7
"A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if I then be a father, where is mine honour?" Malachi 1:6
With the rise of casual Fridays in the workplace and schools, we have seen the overwhelming rise in casual Sundays. The contemporary movement in church is now epidemic. It has brought with it the idea that God accepts any and all kinds of worship. Respect and honor for the Lord of Lords and King of Kings has vanished from most churches. Honor and respect for the house of God has become a lost virtue. Respect has waned between the husband and wife for each other, so the children have little respect for Mom and Dad unless anger and threats gain their attention. Respect for teachers, the pastor, youth workers, and adults in general is lamented. Respect for buildings, rules, and courtesy at church is greatly diminished because it is not taught, nor practiced at home.
The modern church service has become a place where people come not to honor God, but to honor themselves. They want music and messages that feed their flesh instead of their souls. They dress as if they were at a beach or backyard party. It is no wonder we are seeing morals and respect going down the drain. What ever happened to our fear (RESPECT) for our God and HIS place of worship?
