"The Crown of Thorns"

"But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men; and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death,

even the death of the cross." ~ Philippians 2:7-8

We read in Genesis 3:17-18, "Cursed is the ground for thy sake -- thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth." Part of Adam's curse is thorns. Matthew 27:29 reads, "And when they had planted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him." See the Son of God as He makes His way to Calvary. See Him as He hangs between Heaven and Earth. There, placed upon His head is a sign of the curse God placed on man. We see no halo, but thorns upon God's only Son. He, Who knew no sin, would become sin and this suffer wrath of God in our place. Because He did, Paul writes in Galatians 3:13, "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us; for it is written, cursed is every on that hangeth on a tree."

May we never forget what He has done for us! He has redeemed us from the curse of sin, and made us joint-heirs with Himself. Our condemnation and guilt have been erased because of His precious blood!
