"Contemporary Worship"

"But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth:

for the Father seeketh such to worship Him." ~ John 4:23

If you read Amos 5:21 - 23, you will find that God refused the worship of His people. Though it was filled with songs, sacrifices and music, God turned His ear from it. Not only did He reject it, He despised it! To God it was nothing but noise. They put on a good show which made them better, but it did not have God's touch. Today, the contemporary movement has brought into the churches the idea that worship must have a new twist to it. That is, spice up the service and it ill draw the lost into it. As a result, lost people have now been taught to worship. The same atmosphere they have at school, at home, at play, at the beach, or where ever, is now at the church. The coffee-shop spirit. The laid-back, take-it-easy spirit now takes place in the average church. Attending church now is no more than going to the beach, or down to the local bar and grill. The contemporary church has the same style of music that the world has. They do throw some spiritual words, but the beat and rhythm is that of the world. That makes it easy for the crowd to dance to it. It is dancing music, not worship music.

Check out the contemporary church attire. Once again, it is laid back, take-it-easy spirit. Their idea concerning attire is that proper attire is not important. So now, the church is filled with people dressed like they are at the beach, a ball game, cutting grass, or anything else that could you think of.

Instead of taking the Light of the Gospel to the dark places, the contemporary church has brought darkness into the place of light. As a result, worshiping a Holy God has turned into a "Make me feel good" service. TRUE worship requires spirit and truth. The modern day contemporary worship church has neither, and sadly, they don't even know it.
