"For ye are bought with a price."
~1 Corinthians 6:20a
The story is told of an old country farmer who would pray these words when trials and troubles came his way: "Lord, Your property is in danger." It would do us well to say the same prayer when we face the dangers in our lives. We are God's property. He knows how to guide us, guard us, and protect us because we belong to Him. You may say, "I know people who have been killed or died suddenly; where was God?" What a foolish question to pose. He was right there, to carry them to the safe haven of Heaven. We belong to Him, and we will always belong to Him. He never loses us. He never trades us off. He never sells us out. He never leaves us, nor forsakes us! Praise His wonderful keeping power! We are kept by the power of His word, and the protection of His own property is of high priority. He is able to reach the uttermost and take us to the "uppermost" - eternally! I am thankful to God that I am His child, and belong to no other. I'm not even interested in entertaining the temptations of Satan, though I face them each day I am happy and satisfied to be a child of God, and know that He cares and watches over me. His love for me compels me to do my best to love and live for Him.
