"What About Your Passion?"

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy of that was set before Him endured the cross; despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." ~ Hebrews 12: 2
Please do not overlook the word - "JOY"- in this verse. How could our Lord Jesus find any joy in knowing what the cross would bring to Him? That joy would be the fact that lost sinners could be saved. He looked beyond the cross and saw the victory that could be ours through Him. Jesus lived with a passion. That passion was for all of mankind. The word, "PASSION", means any powerful emotion or feeling, such as love or hate, strong affection or fondness or enthusiasm, to be passionate. Allow me to share with you some of the things about passion that I preached about recently. Passion is what drives or motivates you. Success and failure will be determined by your passion. Passion is the vehicle which love rides upon. Passion has a joy to it. Passion has a journey in mind. Passion will not be stopped. Passion will endure pain. Passion has a cost to it. Godly passion does not operate to please itself, but it is well- pleased when it has run its course. Greatness comes from a passion. Satan will attack your passion. Passion exhorts and seldom murmurs or complains.Passion sometimes leads or follows. It sometimes will push or pull. What you are passionate about reveals your true heart. May God help us all to be more passionate about the things of God, more than the cares and pleasures of this world.
Are you excited when it comes to really living for the Lord? It's more than words, it is all about how you live each day. How would you grade you passion for Christ?
