"The One Who Catches"

"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself;

that where I am, there ye may be also." John 14:3

Life is a risky journey. Sometimes we fly high, enjoying great success. But often, we then suddenly fall into deep disappointments and the reality of failure, leaving our hearts wondering if there is anything worth looking forward to. One word that fits into our lives and makes all the difference is the word, "Faith". If you have ever seen the trapeze artists, you would see people that put their faith to the test. The ones who do all the aerial tricks seem to be the key people. But, in reality the most important person is the "Catcher." That's the one who must grab the others who come flying his way. It takes much skill to pull off such and event.

Life is somewhat like the trapeze artist; you fly through it hoping that at the end, you will be caught by someone or something. For the Christian, our faith in Christ will be complete. He tells us in John 14:1, "Let not your heart be troubled...." One day, when our days here are over, we will fly away and be caught by Him, Who has all power. He is our "Catcher." He has never had one slip from His hands. All who put their faith in Him, have no need to worry or be troubled. May we live each day with the reality that we never know when our days here will be over, but we do know that at the end, we will be safe in His hands. Amen! July 27, 2014
