"Memorial Day"

The last Monday of May is "Memorial Day." A day set aside in memory of dead servicemen of all wars involving our nation. The word, "memorial," means something designed to preserve the memory of a person or persons or events. Thousands upon thousands of military servicemen have given their lives that we and our allies might have the freedoms we enjoy today. We should never take for granted the liberty our nation offers. Every time you see one of our nation's military, you should speak a kind and thankful word to him (her).
Consider also the many missionaries who have their lives for the cause of Christ. Paul wrote to Timothy about being a good soldier for Jesus. Thousands have given their lives over the centuries that we might have our KJV Bibles, and they have built churches in places that seemed impossible. Even today, Christians in other lands are suffering and being put to death for their faith in Christ. Even here in America, we are seeing a resistance toward our Christian faith. May we never back down or give up in our stand for Christ and the salvation He offers every lost sinner.
We have an enemy, Satan and his forces of evil. Each day we must prepare to face our foe. Our foe is powerful, but we have a power that our enemy is no match for. It is the power of God. Let's live each day in that power.
All this week, remember and be thankful for those in our military who died in battle for our nation. Also, remember those who have died for the Great Commission of Christ.
