"Enjoy Every Bite"

Sometimes when I'm eating, my wife will look over at me and say, "Slow down and enjoy your food." How many of you reading this are guilty of the same thing? To really enjoy any meal, you must take your time and enjoy the taste of each part of a meal separately, and not mix the food together in their mouth in order to enjoy it better.
I wonder how many of us rush through our Bible reading without really savoring each verse. Notice the words in the above verse, "Sweeter than honey to my mouth." That sounds good to me! What are the benefits of enjoying the rich food of God's Word? A daily meal of God's Word helps to keep anxiety, pride, fear, temptation, and depression from plaguing our undernourished hearts, and strengthens us for a victorious day. His Word gives us wisdom and understanding. It helps us restrain our feet from sin. Just as our physical digestive system distributes our minds, our emotions, and our will. Rather than grabbing Hid Word on the run just before dashing off somewhere, it is important to read it at a time and place where you can really fellowship with God. Make t a time that will allow your mind to fully taste the greatness of God's Word. "Sweet" are the Words of our God! "More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb." ~ Psalm 19:10
